
Ice skating opportunities are plentiful at the UIUC Ice Arena. The UIUC synchronized ice skating team is nationally ranked. Many of their competitors have competed at the national and global levels. Tickets for the UIUC Spring Show cost $5 for general seating, and $7 for reserved seats.

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign boasts an ice arena which is free to the public. Here are some steps to take if you would like to host a group activity at the rink. First, make a reservation. Visit the Illini Union's RSO Office in Room 284 to make a reservation. When reserving ice time, remember that you'll need to supply a list of participants. A supervisor must be present at the rink during your rental period to answer any questions.
Center Ice Cafe
The Center Ice Cafe at the University of Illinois Ice Arena is open to the public. Located adjacent to the Customer Service Office, the cafe offers food and beverages. The Ice Arena Pro Shop stocks a variety of skating and hockey accessories.
Free skate trainers

Gas leak at UI Ice Arena
After a gas leaking from its ice arena, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign issued an Illini-Alert. The building was evacuated at 406 E. Armory Ave. after Ameren Illinois crews discovered a leak. To stop contamination from spreading further, firefighters closed the sideway to protect the arena. The leak appears to have originated below the building.
