How to Become a Master Diver with the United States Navy

The highest level of war qualification in diving is master diver in US Navy. The most experienced, knowledgeable and trained enlisted person in the diving and underwater rescue industries is this master diver. At least 15 years' experience is required to become a master diver. You also need to have taken a specialization class. By taking a specialization class, master diver status can be earned in the United States Navy.

PADI Master Scuba Diver

PADI Master Scuba Diver certification is an internationally recognized level of scuba diving proficiency. The program can be offered by several North American training agencies like the National Association of Underwater Instructors or the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. This is the most advanced level of diving certification. While completing the course, you will need to dive at least 30 feet under water.

NAUI Master Scuba Diver

A NAUI Master Scuba Diver course may be the right choice for you if you are ready to progress to a higher level in scuba diving. The course is designed for divers who want to organize dives. You will learn how to use a compass, perform underwater communications, and recognize pre-panic signs. You will also learn how you can lead a dive at a new location. This course consists of both two open water and a classroom session.


NAUI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver

To enhance your diving experience, the NAUI Master Diver Course in Enriched Air (NITX). The course covers many aspects related to enriched air diving, such as how to mix Nitrox or oxygen. Students will learn to analyze the air mixture, how nitrogen and oxygen work together, and what hazards can be expected when handling each gas. Additionally, students will learn the concepts of EquivalentAir Depth and common gas mix techniques. As the prerequisite to using the enriched water mix, an open water diver may take the enriched Air course.

NAUI Rescue Scuba Diver

Completing the required courses is essential to achieving your dream of becoming a NAUI Rescue Scuba Diver Master Diving Instructor. This certification is a prerequisite in the NAUI FIT program, which will prepare you to be a professional NAUI Instructor/Leader. Start by taking the Try Scuba course. This program teaches you the skills and knowledge necessary to safely dive in open waters.

NAUI First Aid Course

A NAUI First Aid course for master divers will prepare you to respond to a variety of emergencies that can arise in the water. Refresher sessions are included, as well as information on the latest First Aid standards. NAUI First Aid will equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to rapidly respond to an immediate emergency. You will also be able to use the skills that were taught in class.
