A dive master is a professional who enables others to go underwater by leading recreational and organised dives. In many countries, the dive master qualification is the required level for divers with supervisory or guide responsibility. Not everyone can become a dive master. However, if you have the right qualifications, you can become a dive master. These are just a few of the many benefits that come with becoming a diving master.
The job description of a master dive diver
What is the job description for a dive master? In short, it involves a variety of duties, including assessing the risks of diving, supervising customer dives, delivering briefings and leading groups through a dive. A dive master's job description can be even more varied. A dive master might be responsible to several aspects of a dive shop such as the operation and social media presence.
Scuba instructors can teach and supervise divers in open water and swimming pools. They can also organize and supervise activities other than training such as navigation. Open water instructors will lead students on the tour portion of the dives. These include the navigation exercise, and the surface swim portion. Instructors may also have to instruct certified divers in scuba reviews. There are different laws that apply to dive instructors. In certain countries, however, the legal responsibility of diving instructors is exempted if the instructor signs a waiver.
Certification requirements
If you'd like to work as a dive master, you'll need to complete a course to learn the skills you need to be a successful Divemaster. The Divemaster course covers everything you need to know about managing divers, setting up dive sites, managing diver flows and finding the right flow for diving. A minimum of 60 dives must be logged in order to qualify. Divers may also be assisted by divemasters to improve their theory and skills.
Dive masters need to pass two parts of the exam in addition to taking classes. Candidats must score at most 75% for each section of the exam to pass it. The PADI Instructor Guide and the eRDPML will be used to prepare for the exam. Students also need to prepare an emergency assistance plan and complete five waterskills exercises. At least fifteen points must be combined. After completing the course, divemasters must receive certification.
Internships are required
Divermasters have many internship options. You may be asked to assist in other PADI Courses, or even set up dive sites. It is possible that you will be asked to assist in skill circuits. The internship will follow a specific pattern. A typical internship lasts 8 weeks. During this period, you may be able to become an Advanced Open Water Diver. After four to 6 weeks of training you can become an Advanced Open Water Diver or Divemaster.
In addition to the paid internships, you may find a free internship option for a Dive master. Even though free internships may not be ideal, they will allow you to get valuable advice and study from a Divemaster. You may also be eligible to receive manuals, certification, or equipment as part your internship. Before you enroll in any Divemaster course, it is important to be familiar with the requirements.
