Diverse diving is a sport

Diverse diving is an activity enjoyed by many people for a variety of reasons. Diverse diving can be a therapeutic and enjoyable experience for many thanks to the abundance of fish and weightlessness. It doesn't matter whether you are a professional diver or an amateur diver, diving is an open-water activity.

Preparation for diving as an activity

Divers are more than just a hobby. It's a competitive sport. A series of skills must be mastered to compete in the competition. Divers must perform twists and somersaults in order to be eligible for the competition. There are many different ways to prepare yourself for a meet.

It is important to practice. Diving requires a lot of energy, and one hour of diving burns around 500 calories, or the equivalent of 50 minutes of jogging or cycling. Avoid diving with an empty stomach and avoid eating fatty foods. Dive time can cause you to become extremely dehydrated. Make sure to drink lots of fluids. Diving also alters physiological functions in your body, and can lead to lowered blood pressure, increased heart rate and an irresistible urge to "pee."

Risks of back injury

The back injury is the most common type of injury that can happen when you dive. Your body moves at approximately 15 feet per minute when you dive. Any impact on an object or obstruction will cause spinal cord damage. Your neck and spine can be twisted, which can cause nerve and ligament injuries.

Your risk of getting a back problem depends on the severity. You can minimize your chances of getting it by carefully adjusting how your weight is distributed. Your lower back can be relieved by placing your weights closer to the front of your belt. The weights can be placed on the tank or inside your BCD.

PADI and SSSI diving certifications

If you are interested in learning scuba diving, there will be many different training agencies. It is up to you to decide which agency you prefer. Your first choice can set the tone for your diving career. For example, if your current dive center is SSI affiliated, you might consider switching to a PADI member. You might also want to learn from BSAC-certified friends.

SSI has grown steadily in the last couple of years, but it will still take many years before it can rival PADI in size. It has taken a major step into online certification. It now offers an app that lets divers log their dives and receive course materials from instructors. They can also view their qualifications. The app is very similar to PADI Dive Explorer, however there are some differences.
