To become a cavern dive instructor, you must complete a scuba diver course. The course includes four dives. The first is an outdoor practice, in which you will learn how to handle line and reel, avoid silt-outs and manage air. Your instructor will also show you how to plan your dive and keep your orientation and air management under control. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to dive in caves or other caves with safety rules.
Safety
Cave diving safety protocols should follow the Rule of Threes. The cave diver should have three types of light sources and at least two tanks. The gas should be divided into three different sections so that they can survive the dive. If the dive team is experienced, and has had experience diving in caves before, it is better to use a conservative gas management strategy. In addition to avoiding cave hazards, cave divers should practice safe diving practices.
Equipment
Cave diving requires the use of specific equipment. Two types of safety reels are essential. One should be used as a guideline reel, and the other should be used during the dive. For cavern diving, each diver must have a safety rod with enough line for the distance to the cave's entrance. Many manufacturers will bundle the spools with guideline at the edge when you purchase a new reel. This makes them more likely to jam. To reduce the chance of jamming, cut about 10 meters (30ft) of length before using.
Maximum penetration
TDI offers a cavern dive course designed for scuba divers that wish to dive in areas with limited vertical access. This includes diving in caverns and underhangs. It is not mandatory to sign up for a cavern dive course. However, the course will provide the necessary skills to make the most of the environment. This course will help you navigate dangerously through the small spaces that are sometimes hidden from your eyes.

Maximum depth
Cavern diving comes with its own limitations. Cavern diving should not be done at night. Cavern diving is more difficult than other types of diving. To be able to dive in caverns safely, you will need to know the basics and understand your limits. Before you dive in caves, you should have experience with it. This will allow you to begin your journey into the wonderful world of cavern-diving!
