Courses in Nitrox Certification

You have many reasons to get certified in Nitrox diving. Nitrox diving lets you experience the thrills and excitement of enriched oxygen. You will also feel more confident diving. There are several certification courses offered by organizations. There are many certification courses: NAUI Enriched Air Nix Diver, PADI Enriched Air Diver; SSI Adventure Diver; and Open Water Diver.

PADI Enriched Air Diver

The PADI Enriched Air Diver (EANx) certification is for divers who wish to extend the bottom time of their dives. This course includes both a classroom session and home study. The EANx course includes learning about oxygen content in the scuba tank, how to use a scuba oxygen analyzer, and standard procedures for recording the percentage of oxygen in the tank.

Air divers who have been nitrox-enriched can extend their time underwater without needing to stop often. The air mix has a lower amount of nitrogen, which gives them a greater safety margin. Also, enriched air mix usually has 32% or 36% oxygen. This makes them great for shallower dives.

NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver

If you want to improve your diving, an enriched air diver certification will help you get there. This course teaches the basics of mixing air, the risks associated high oxygen concentrations, and how you can handle the equipment. You will also learn how to use a dive computer and analyze your tanks. You'll also learn the Equivalent Air Depthance and how to use a standard dive table. Common blending techniques for nitrogen and oxygen will also be covered.

Enriched air, also known as Nitrox, is a type of breathing gas that contains more oxygen than standard air. The increased oxygen content means you can stay underwater longer and not need to refill your tank. It is also good for your health as it helps to reduce decompression fatigue. Also, enriched divers have shorter surface intervals.

SSI Adventure Diver

SSI, an internationally recognized dive organization, offers the SSI Adventure Diver Nitrox Certification. You will need to have experience, knowledge, skills, and both. You must have completed at minimum 50 dives as well as four specialty courses in order to receive this award.

The SSI Adventure Diver nitrox course teaches students how to dive in low visibility. It teaches divers how navigate in dark conditions, use specialized equipment, communicate with other divers, and how to communicate with them. They will be eligible for the SSI Nitrox Specialty Certification once they have successfully completed the course.

SSI Open Water Diver

The SSI Open Water Diver certification is internationally recognized. It includes three parts: academic, in-water pool training and multiple open-water diving. During this course, you will learn how to plan and dive using enriched air mixes up to 40% oxygen. This can increase your bottom time and reduce your surface intervals. It may also help to avoid decompression sickness.

PADI and SSI dive centers are different in the way they handle certifications. PADI certification requires you to buy your manual. However, with an SSI certification, you receive your card from the dive center where you completed your course. PADI certification centers may also offer temporary cards that you can use as proof of your certification.
